Before Sumner County schools were desegregated, Union High School was the county's first and only high school for black students. 2020 marks 50 years since 1970, the year of the last graduating class of Union High School - when Sumner County desegregated schools.
Union High School still stands today at 600 Small Street and is now the Union High Resource Center, home to Shalom Zone Gallatin as well as other local non-profits that serve our community.
